Fall Expectations

This will be the first Fall I'll have two munchkins to entertain. Micron, though still a bit young, will get her real, first glimpse into the holiday season. Hmm, wonder what she'll be this Halloween? Last year, she was just a newborn and she pretty much slept through all the fun and excitement. Despite the lingering weather of Summer, I can't wait for Fall. It's my favorite season because it marks the start of the holidays, peppermint hot chocolate and mochas, layers of warm clothes, comfy sweaters, and splashing in puddles.

Things I'm looking forward to this season are, getting to trick or treat in our new neighborhood, pumpkin patch visits with Lolo, doing Zoo Lights again, taking a day trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium (Micro has been obsessed with all creatures of the seas as of late, especially, Mr. Shark), more ferry rides into SF (basically to see the Aquarium of the Bay, again), another trip to Gilroy Gardens (where we won't be worried about heat exhaustion), paying a visit to the Union Square Christmas Tree at night while cuddling my babies and a cup of hot cocoa, and plenty of cozy nights snuggling on our sofa with my family.

Having two children is certainly different than having just one. Especially, because mine are so close in age. It IS twice as hard. I've had my share of mommy meltdowns and frustrations, but given the passage of time, I know it's made me a stronger and wiser woman. Though I anticipate to go back to work full time at some point, I've tried my best to appreciate these moments I have with my kids, as I know this is a rare and precious time I'm getting to spend with them. I'm quite fortunate. Right now I've begun potty training (well, I haven't fully committed yet) and so far so good. More on that on another post.

So, what will you guys be looking forward to as the weather begins to cool down?
