"A gift from heaven above, who's so well loved." That's the quote that begins our little (is she still?) girl's 1st birthday invitation and demonstrates how we feel about her. Yes, that's right, Micron turned 1 on Saturday, September 3--10:32 a.m. to be exact. Time flew by with this child. I can hardly believe how big she's grown and how fast this milestone came. I was not prepared at all for her to be 1 years old already. We celebrated with Lolo, Lola, my best friend and her kids. My sister was out of town and we had just come back from seeing my in-laws last weekend. Next weekend is Micron's big birthday party at a park.
Micron is VERY DIFFERENT than Micro, despite that when she was first born, she looked very much like my son. Micron was a laid back baby. Observing quietly in the corner watching Mommy, Daddy, and Micro do stuff. She is definitely very, very attached to me and Dada. Still. Her favorite thing to do these days is wave "hello" to everyone that gives her even the slightest acknowledgment, smile from ear to ear when "Dada" comes home, and is desperately trying to stand on her own two feet. She enjoys being held by Mommy & Daddy. But her greatest pleasure, is crawling around, pulling herself up to see what big brother is doing. They truly enjoy each other's company. She saves her biggest smiles for her Kuya when she sees him first thing in the morning. He in return, is very excited to see her and often asks, "When's 'Micron' getting up?" (if she's still asleep when he wakes) Awww.
Perhaps, both Mr. Fliz and I were in denial when September 3rd came. There was no way a year had passed since the birth of our baby girl. I look at her and I can't seem to remember what it felt like to hold her as an infant, her chubby legs are giving way to more lean, stronger ones, her hair is no longer straight, but curly, she's losing some baby fat, and all these things, make me a bit sad. Where did my baby go? As she enters into toddler-hood, I'll savor every 'baby' moment I can. I love you dearly Micron.
