iPhone photo love

We've been busy over here and so I'll share some pics from a few weeks ago to recently:

Because cuddles before bedtime are the best (next to "morning cuddles")

First taste of Pinkberry and of Summer

Mama got a bike!!! I'm ready to ride this summer.

Micron loves sneaking into Micro's Mcqueen bed for nap time

Being super silly!

A ferry ride to visit Daddy after work

On a separate note, I've been keeping busy pushing my double stroller and completed the 101st Bay to Breakers this past weekend (it's my 3rd time). It felt great to be racing again and what better way to prep for half-marathons than doing a fun race. Good times, I tell ya.

Micro is finishing up the last week and a half of his preschool and I had the privilege of volunteering this past Monday at his school. It was a joy to see Micro interact with his peers and being the "class helper." I hope to volunteer again in the next session to see his progress. These kids grow up way too fast.

Happy Mother's Day

It's amazing to see how much my life has changed in the past four years. I've always known that I wanted a family, and here I am, three and a half years later, I'm blessed with two of God's greatest gifts and blessings. This blog wouldn't exist if not for my first baby, Micro, and all the excitement he provided made me want one more.

Now, seeing my two kids growing and loving each other more each day, makes me ponder about adding another. Though not for awhile, Mamas. I've got plenty on my hands, and despite the hardships of pregnancy and motherhood, the end result is worth more than anything in this world.

There is no experience I can compare motherhood to. But I know this, being a mother has given me more insight and appreciation for my own Mother, who I know had to sacrifice a lot for my sister and I. For all that you've given me and continue to Mom, I love you. That also goes for my Mother-In-Law. Because without either of these women, my kids wouldn't be here today. Thank you Mom for giving me your all...and to Mom Flowers, for birthing and raising a beautiful son, my husband.

To all the blessed and loving Mamas out there, may tomorrow bring you much joy, peace, love, and happiness. Happy Mother's Day!

Another Birthday!

Happy Birthday to our beloved Ms. Squid. She turned the big 3 today. The picture above was from a few months ago during a weekday trip to the Zoo. Time flies and May is my busiest of birthday months. In addition to my birthday and Ms. Squid's, Ms. Lolli's daddy's birthday is today (happy bday to you too!), my Godson's is tomorrow, my mom's is next week, and had my Lola lived another year, she would've been celebrating 95 years of age on May 12, and Ms. Lolli celebrates on the 23rd. What a popular month for me.

Here's to all those celebrating a birthday this May! May God continue to shower you with many blessings.

Getting older and getting there

Yesterday was my birthday, and though there were definitely some enjoyable moments, it was also offset by some difficult ones with my kids (this is what happens on 3 successive days of lack of sleep). At then end of the evening, it was a perfect day. Hearing their rendition of "Happy Birthday" would melt polar ice caps. But as I think about what I want out of my birthdays, there's not much on my list, except to enjoy little private moments with my family and good friends. It's these experiences that leave sweet memories cherished in my heart. My priorities are different now that I have children, and they are my most treasured accomplishment next to marrying Mr. Fliz, who, happens to have his birthday just 6 days before me. Which means, for those 6 days, I get to enjoy being two years younger than him ;)

And a little update on Micro's potty training. For the past week and a half, he has successfully pooped in the potty each and every time. AHMAZHING! I'm not sure what changed since my post about "potty training woes," but I'm so glad that we've made progress. We're getting there!
